The tailor to your child’s wild dress-up box
Atelier Spatz started in 2013 with Jo’s own kids growing up with vintage costumes that had been in her family for generations. Missing from the seafarer’s chest of costumes in her parents’ attic was a bird cape and so she made one. Over the past years, they have been joined by everything from snow queens, ringmasters and superheroes to sea horses, fairies and pirate costumes.
Jo has made costumes for children’s museums like the Young V&A in London as well as children’s theatre groups, ballet dancers and film. All costumes are made by hand in Luxembourg and ship to clients worldwide.
Autumn magic
Autumn is always the busiest — and most magical — season in the studio. As the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp, we naturally shift indoors, carrying the sunshine and stories of summer with us. This is the time when we transform those cherished outdoor memories into cozy, creative adventures.
It’s also the season of celebration, with Halloween just around the corner and Christmas twinkling on the horizon. Costumes, props, and a dash of imagination can help bring your moments to life, whether you’re capturing the playful spirit of spooky season or the warmth of holiday traditions.
Let this autumn be your invitation to step into character, embrace the change of season, and create something unforgettable.

Children's costumes made the artisan way
Being an artisan business means embodying a commitment to craftsmanship, where each product is created with skill, care, and a deep passion for quality, reflecting a dedication to preserving traditional techniques and being kind to our planet while offering unique, handcrafted goods.
In 2022 the studio found a new home in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and I’ve since been awarded with the “Made in Luxembourg” label by the Luxembourg Chambre des Métiers.

Let’s create colourful felt hats for little elves and flower children together. Using scissors and a sewing machine, the children will make their own creations. Each child will make their own magical elf hat, inspired by the colours of nature, perfect for adventures in the fairytale forest. No prior knowledge of handling a sewing machine is required, but it could be helpful.
Price per workshop: €10 (includes all materials and all creations can be taken home by the kids)
All workshops are suitable for children aged 6 to 12 accompanied by their parents.
